A guide to 'Live-in Relationship' in India!

Image
Hello Potatoes , Living alone anywhere is HARD, let alone, in a ‘live-in relationship’ is one step ahead where you feel like you’re thrown into Olympics where you need to race and DEFEAT all the ‘married’, ‘settled’, and ‘families’ group of people. I kid you not, when I say DEFEAT because there’s a lot more at stake than just an individual or two individuals in this matter, losing a fight over our basic rights just because of our ‘marital status’. It’s one of the eerily similar situations, where one person holds a degree, other one doesn’t and they both are fighting for that ONE job but you know that in the likes of this situation a person with degree has a higher chance of getting the job sadly, which in turn makes it even more stressful for you to prove that you deserve it equally if, not more! ‘Live-in relationships’ has been recently recognised by our government and surprisingly with a positive note but with some bizarre rules. I’ll get to that in a bit but first, let me give ...

The Baal's Beauty - India's Fuss Over HAIR!

Image credit: GOOGLE/ CREATIVE BLOQ Hello Potatoes, Nah… I’m not kidding around. I really am going to talk about this and I don’t care who gets offended. Gotta start with why I am writing about this. Bear my story so that you can get the point of this longgggg blog post. I have always been a rebel since the time I was capable to make my own decisions. Being an only child and a dear to my parents, they kinda let me do whatever I wanted and however I wanted to experiment with myself and with my life and I’m grateful for that because I’ve seen how some kids can go through a shitty life because of their parents. Fast forward to 2010, I dropped out of college and pursued Photography. Later, I pursued Public Relations & Media Management and managed to land a PR internship with an NGO. From there on, I knew I wanted to work with NGOs and/or startups. Few more internships and jobs,a hell lot of experiments with my life and I finally got into s...

Don't eat less to lose weight, eat right! A 7-Day meal plan to get you started.

Hello Potatoes, Food is one of the most important aspect in our day-to-day life. It’s a necessity for a healthy living! But wait.. hold that thought. Are we really living healthy? In the last few decades our eating habits have changed drastically. Our generation is all about ‘ready to cook’ or ‘take away’ or ‘eat outs’. We hustle so much that we don’t even pay a second of attention to what we are putting in our body and plus the lack of physical activity doesn’t help the situation either. A downward journey from fresh home cooked food to junk and processed food has taken over restaurants, grocery stores, supermarket and our kitchen! We fail to realise that food is what fuels us or drains us. We need to know which side to pick and what comes with it. What we fail to understand that the best foods are grown in nature. Vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains etc, these are the foods that not only give us the nutrition but it helps prevent numerous lifestyle diseases. Simple home cooke...

Bringing back the love for Theatrical Plays

Image
PART 1 I am so excited to write something so different on my blog for the very first time! Please share and comment if you like it! All throughout my life I had only heard about 'Theatrical Plays'. This era being all about movie theaters on big screen has probably blindsided the essence of entertainment through real performances on stage. The genre in plays are as versatile as in the movies. What we, as masses fail to realize that the on stage drama has so much more to it, than we can ever imagine. Believe me, it's a live show and there's no room for mistakes! I am grateful that I finally got to witness the first play 'Algattya Balgattya'. Yep, before you go judging, we had no idea this play was meant for kids! We ended up in the theater shocked to see kids surrounded and we started re-considering our decision but luckily enough, we thought we might as well give it a shot and boy, did we enjoy it! It was of course very fictional and funny in a childish ...

A Kick Start To Fitness Routine For Beginners

When I went vegan I had no idea that the health benefits it carries and also a share of myths binded to it. Here’s a brief experience on how veganism helped me when I first went vegan. Suffering from PCOS since the time I hit puberty, my period cramps were the worst! I used to get them ONCE in every SIX months and I used to bleed for a whole month, which in turn completely left me exhausted, pale and weak. It almost felt like a rebirth, every single time! LOL.  I tried every medicine out there but nothing worked or so I thought. As I have been vegetarian since childhood, I only had to quit dairy and dairy products. If you read any of my previous posts, I had mentioned that I was a big fan of cheese, butter, paneer, ice creams, a tea addict and what not! After going vegan I lost couple of kilos in the first month and somehow I started feeling better and energised than I was in the past. My periods started visiting more often and with milder cramps. At the beginning, I just ...

Imagine Cafe - A Cafe that serves the purpose!

Image
Photo Credit: Imagine Cafe Every time I find vegan options, there’s nothing more satisfying than that (at least in that moment). Since the time I turned vegan in 2014, I had this wish that someday, maybe just someday a vegan restaurant to be opened where I stay. Who knew out of all the wishes I wished for, this wish was to be fulfilled! 😄 Imagine Cafe, founded by duo architects, Ritwik and Vidhi, finally decided to take charge and change the vegan scene in Mumbai when they’ve had enough of Chinese and french fries! They have curated a beautiful menu with a mixture of Mexican, Italian, Indian and more with refreshing cold/hot beverages to satisfy everyone’s taste buds, minus the guilt! The ambiance is so pretty, they a compact vertical garden on their wall, the colour combination brings out a certain liveliness without being too bright on your eyes, the space feels so cozy, minimalistic and elegant. An amazing job done in creating this pretty cafe! 😉 I’ve visited this r...
